After inheriting Aunt Kate's house, Riley Parker sets out to explore what the reclusive lady left behind. In the attic, Riley was surprised to find a stack of VHS tapes next to an old TV. The tapes are labeled only with the episode number, with no other indication of content. Out of curiosity, Riley put the first tape in the VCR.

To Riley's surprise, it was an early 2000s children's cartoon that he had never seen before. It appears to have been made locally and stars a young girl named Amanda and her loyal but shy best friend Cashmere. While the episode seemed appealing and ordinary on the surface, a sense of unease set in when Riley realized that Amanda and the cashmere seemed to be able to communicate directly through the TV. Riley couldn't help but continue watching the tape, even though a deep unease in Riley's heart told him to stop.
